Collection: Harry Frost

I am an artist living and working in Derbyshire. I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2017 with a degree in Fine Art: Painting. My work explores the twin themes of memory and landscape.

My oil paintings express my personal emotional memory of the mood, atmosphere and ambiance of a place and time. Sometimes my work may be a realistic interpretation of a natural scene yet still reflects my personal perception.

More often, my paintings are an imaginative expression of my internal recollection of how I felt and emotionally responded to being present in the natural environment.
I recall the sensations evoked by the play of light, the movement and energy created by the natural phenomena and how these generated a particular atmospheric mood which I seek to convey in my work.
