Birches is one of my most popular paintings. A multi-coloured mixed media painting of silver birch trees, it was inspired by a walk through the very lovely Rosliston Forestry Centre. This is a limited edition print.
I started with a fine pencil sketch of the trees, then created a stencil and pushed a 3D matt gel through the stencil to create texture on the tree trunks. When this dried I added layer upon layer of watercolour paint letting it dry fully each time.
