Fairytale painting in oils
Dimensions: 90 cm x 90 cm
'Do Not Be Deceived by Appearances' is inspired by the oldest version of Beauty and the Beast: La Belle et la Bête. The original painting and its giclee prints portray the original story, including the four main fairies: Bella Donna, Delphine, The Queen of the Fairies, and Alice (Beauty's mother); Prince Adam in his first described beast form of having tusks, trunk, and large paws; and of course many roses which have a huge significance in both the original and later versions of the tale. As with other works, Sarah has hidden the beast into the garden, linking to the detail in the original story that he would turn himself invisible and follow Beauty on her explorations around the gardens. This item is perfect for fairy tale lovers, and those who like to look keep spotting more and more in a painting they never noticed the first time.
